There are many guides and outfitters operating in Alaska. Some run exceptional camps, some mediocre, and some are downright poor at best. How do you go about selecting an outfitter with whom you will spend lots of your hard earned money, and know you will get what you pay for? The answer is easy. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! |

I began guiding in Alaska in 1992. I have worked in some of the finest camps, (Larry River 's the longest), and know what it takes to provide a top quality, top notch outdoor experience. Through the years I have met and become friends with some of the finest guides and outfitters Alaska has to offer.
HUNTING
I know the Game Management Units that are providing the largest animals. I know what GMU's have the largest population of animals. I know which outfitters are 100% committed to your success while at the same time following all the rules of FAIR CHASE.
There are four questions you need to answer in determining what outfitter will provide the best services for you.
- What type of animal(s) do you want to hunt?
- Are you looking for a quality animal or trophy only?
- What style of hunt is important?
a.
horsepower (super cub vs. horseback)
b. spike camp vs. set camp
c.
luxury or bare bones (luxury in Alaska is a subjective term at best!!)
- How much can you afford not to spend? Cheapest is usually not best in any aspect of life; however the most expensive does not guarantee any greater levels of success.
