Black Bear hunts are traditionally add-ons to other hunts.  Different color phases of Black Bears can be found throughout Alaska, but rich, dark, chocolate black is the norm.  Size typically ranges from 6-foot square to 8-foot square.

Some areas of the state allow Black Bears to be baited into stands.  This is an exceptional hunt for the young, elderly, or handicapped.
